Porto Franco OÜ signed an agreement with the Norwegian hotel operator Citybox to build a Citybox Hotel in the Porto Franco I building. Citybox is a chain of innovative hotels in city centers offering fully automatic service, which allows offering a reasonable price.
“Tallinn is both a historic city and a very future-oriented city. I am convinced that Citybox will be a good match for Tallinn,” says founder of Citybox, Martin Smith-Sivertsen, Chairman of the board of Citybox AS.
“We are excited to open up our first hotel abroad in Tallinn and this is just the start of our strategy to open up many more hotels in the largest cities in Europe,” says CEO of Citybox, Eivind Hjulstad.
“Porto Franco has the best location in the city, by the harbor and right next to the historic city.
Citybox will be a new innovative hotel to the hotel market in Tallinn and we are sure, that our hotel will be a great contributor for visiting guests. We have a great faith in our own concept and we strongly believe that a modern and new budget hotel is something that fits very well with the profile of Porto Franco.”
“The Citybox concept is well suited to Porto Franco’s new city-center vision: an innovative hotel that offers comfort and ease while remaining affordable. We are looking for partners for modern companies to make Porto Franco a modern, comfortable city center with all the amenities,” said Rauno Teder, chairman of the Porto Franco OÜ developing the Porto Franco city district. “Citybox hotels are very popular, for example, in TripAdvisor, Citybox was chosen for many years as a favorite for travelers. In such a market niche, Citybox is the first hotel in Tallinn, and I am very pleased that it comes to Porto Franco.”
“Citybox has entrusted the consulting on its enlargement in Europe to Colliers International. The more pleased we are to see that among all the other countries in the region, Estonia is the first for Citybox to put down its stake,” said Avo Rõõmussaar, chairman of the board and the Estonian partner of Colliers International. “According to our estimates, Citybox is a new quality on the Estonian market. The hotel offers everything you expect from a modern hotel – a good location, modern interior design, fast (electronic) check-in and check-out, and flexible pricing policies. Located in the heart of the city, Porto Franco is just such a project, which already makes a significant contribution to the success of the hotel.”

The hotel has 270 rooms, including single rooms, double rooms, and 4-people family rooms. The total area of the hotel is 8575m2.
